Standard Takadai/Ayatakedai Combination (Ayatakadai)

The BraidersHand version of the ayatakedai has two screws that hold the ayatakedai in place, making it very easy to convert the takadai into a ayatakadai. The original takadai/ayatakedai combination was developed by Aiko Sakai, Makiko Tada's mother. She coined the word ayatakAdai (eye-ah-taw-caw-dye) to describe this piece of equipment. One-hundred gram tama are traditionally used with the ayatakedai.

Our ayatakadai comes with its own sword which is longer than that used for the takadai. The ayatakadai uses a fastener system that was originally developed for conference booths because they were reassembled so often. Our ayatakadai can be assembled and disassembled thousands of times without worry that there will be any failure of the bolt and dowel pin assembly.

Our equipment is made to order in a one-man shop, the wait list for all equipment EXCEPT marudai is 18 months.

The wait for MARUDAI and CORE STAND is around 2 weeks.

There is no deposit or obligation to get on our list; email for ship dates when you order.
